Hello.

I've been employed as a Graphic Designer for more than 16 years, primarily in the wall art industry. For 13 years, I was a part of GreenBox Art + Culture and their Children's art brand, Oopsy Daisy - Fine Art for Kids. GreenBox Art + Culture held licenses for Fine Art from over 800 talented artists, reproducing their work on various mediums, including canvas, paper, and a selection of exquisite gift items. 

During my time at GreenBox, I worked in many design roles. Starting out originally as a production designer, I worked with the original art files ensuring they were up to our demanding quality standards, edited them to optimize colors and fit them into our product templates. Oftentimes, a color variation of certain pieces was requested and I would create a new art piece by making intricate selections and color adjustments in Photoshop. In order to make our smaller gift products, I would carefully edit artwork, moving elements around to fit a new format. 

Within my first year at GreenBox, I transitioned to the Graphic Design Lead where I worked as a go-between for our Creative Director Carly Gray, the Owner Karen Capp, and numerous artists to help create custom artwork for exclusive clients such as Target, Land of Nod (now Crate & Kids), Pottery Barn Kids, LL Bean, Barnes & Nobles, and Anthropologie. These clients would reach out to us, sometimes with specific ideas in mind or upcoming collections they wanted to create art to fit. I would help find existing pieces that fit their collection or would manipulate them so that they did. I also conducted online searches for artists whose style would be a perfect fit and did the outreach to start onboarding these artists to create custom art for our clients. File creation and manipulation for the products was handled by myself, as well as communication between most of the artists and our Creative Director. I set up a rigorous quality assurance and organization method to keep approved print samples tidy and had frequent press checks to ensure the colors looked accurate and consistent.

I worked on-site for 5 years in San Diego, but I have been a remote worker for the past 8 years, initially working from Galveston, TX, and eventually in Davis, CA, where I currently reside. During this time, I have consistently demonstrated my ability to maintain focus and effective communication, even when physically distanced by over 1500 miles from my team.

As a remote worker, my role evolved again with a new focus on digital and print marketing materials and variable data products. Utilizing my expertise in creating production files and my love of automation I developed Variable Data templates to streamline the production of personalized gift products. Additionally, I crafted 'Marking Templates' in collaboration with our IT team, which seamlessly interfaced with our order database together with their custom scripts. This automated process ensured the retrieval of the correct print files and the integration of individualized order data into a new customized print file, enabling us to monitor the progress of each item and order as it moved through the production process.

In 2023, I made the decision to launch my own venture and founded Every Little Piece, an online jigsaw puzzle ecommerce store that has a focus on selling puzzles with human-made artwork from independent brands that you are less likely to find in big box stores. This store started as a side hobby and quickly grew into a passion project. I have enjoyed learning what it takes to run an ecommerce business solo and also gained quite a few new skills on the social media side of things. I've been proud to partner with well known puzzle related brands, Cloudberries, Completing the Puzzle Subscription Co and PitaPita Puzzle boards to create User-Generated Content for them. I even branched out and learned Adobe Premiere so that I could run my jigsaw puzzle time-lapse YouTube channel.  

Outside of work, I am a mother to a spirited 6-year-old and wife to a 40-year-old research scientist. While my spare time is fleeting, when available, my favorite thing to do is to tackle a 1,000 piece puzzle or curl up with a good book. My current favorite book is All Systems Red, the first sci-fi novella of the Murderbot series by Martha Wells, and I have also started to dabble in embroidery.
